Actuarial Analyst Opportunity
Basic Qualifications/Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline
- Relevant work experience preferred (public and/or private pension consulting)
- Relevant computer and software skills
- Completion of at least one actuarial exam towards accreditation preferred
This position is available in January, 2022.
Position Description
We are searching for an Actuarial Analyst to join our team-oriented staff – the position will initially include the following in providing annual private and public sector pension/retiree healthcare benefit calculation and actuarial valuation services and related work, under senior staff supervision.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review pension plan provisions and perform benefit calculations
- Validate, reconcile, and review demographic data to be used in the actuarial valuations
- Demonstrate understanding of basic pension rules and regulations
- Analyze valuation results, including review of liabilities, sample lives, and asset calculations
- Draft pension and retiree healthcare valuation reports
- Continued progress passing actuarial exams to attain ASA and/or EA actuarial designation
Required Skills and Background
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Expertise in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of coding logic
- Ability to analyze large data sets
- Highly organized, with analytical thinking and ability to problem solve
- Time management skills to balance client projects while studying for exams
- Attention to detail
